Last time the AI beamed security officiers onboard my ship and.. errm... well... after they destroyed my warp core, impulse and weapons I ran out of options...

I'm doing normal / mid-level difficulty. And yeah, I've usually got problems with the crazed federation boarding crews as well; usually when that happens it's unwise to continue the battle normally, so I'll generally just switch off everything I don't immediately need (i.e. all weapons but my rear disruptors, sick bay, most of my sensors, damage control) and dump the remainder into security until the intruders are dealt with. Might be worth just cloaking at that point too, depending on your shields and how confident you feel about the enemy ships landing solid hits against you. Staying close to the planetary ring during the initial engagement is wise too, you can quickly duck in there if you need to hide out for a bit.

I'll also generally tell my escorts to stay formed up during the battle and only have them break away to attack when really needed; if they stay formed-up they'll generally stay focused on triple-teaming whatever I'm shooting at rather than randomly flying all over the place. At the least it provides some additional protection for when that Oberth decides to shoot you in the arse if you're focusing on the Connie.

When it comes to escorting the freighter, I actually vaguely recall the last time I played this mission I just hid out in the nebula with the freighter - after you wait long enough, the Federation ships will just get sick of hunting for you and will take off. Probably a safer approach than having the freighter hide in the rings, that's for sure. :)

Edit: Though cowardly, any time I get in trouble I've got a pretty bad habit of just warping away to a distant point in the system and running for it until repairs can be completed. Unfortunately it seems enemy ships now have a random habit of deciding to warp to the middle of nowhere half the time I do this; the last few times I saw the first Connie in this mission jump to warp to give chase; it then over-shot me and continued on out of the system at warp 1 until it was completely beyond any kind of coherent sensor range. That broke the mission, forcing me to adopt less cowardly tactics for the future. I could've sworn I never had this happen the last time I played the game, but this was several years ago....

Heh. Sorry CISNDestroyer; using that script I now end up with this message popping up as soon as I warp into Janus: http://illuminatihq.net/KADebug.jpg - The usual music doesn't trigger either.

I think i have found the issue for the mission 6.

of me fixed script.
Extract the archive in KA-dir\Scripts, if the scripts folder does not exist, greate one.

Please tell me if an issue exist.

This one worked so long as I let all the friendly AI ships warp out first.

As you will find in later missions the game frequently bugs out when doing warp travel. Really removed the fun factor of the Attack Earth mission.
