star trek starfleet academy

Postby startrekmaniac » Sat Jun 16, 2007 11:41 pm

so for some reason when I start the game the menu starts to play normal and than it goes to back and I have to roll the mouse over the screen it get the whole picture back, but the only problem is when i try to fix the screen it blacks out again. I had this problem in klingon academy but it was only on the view screen and it didnt happen very often. make sense?

I have had this happen to me in KA at the main menu but not in SFA. I don't know what causes it.

Get hold of KALI.

When I used to play it in the late 90's that was the ONLY way to play it online aside from direct modem dialup.

When several of us meet up on Steam, we can all try to meet on Kali afterwards....

To those who have this game, would someone be willing to make .ISOs of the discs and upload them to my server via FTP?

I make 5 cd´s copies by GAMEJADK 5. its .XMD format (daemon tools read it veery vell). If any problem, i will make .ISOs by daemon tools.
I ´m not at home, i have here very slowly WIFI connection, where i will be at home (cable connect 25/10 Mb/s), i will upload the files on internet. Do you have any favorite server to download? I will put it to gamefront.com.

http://www.kali.net/

You can cough up the $10 for MP using it! Otherwise you're limited to like 20 mins or something. This was the service we used waaaaayyyyyy back in a time the Internet gods forgot - 1997!

I'm not sure about the IPX and other such functions, but it had worked every time in the past.
We shall see if it still does. The MP games for it are REALLY good! Net profit, Mo' profit, Capture the Flag and GWAR!!
It's just so damn SAD that Interplay didn't have time/resources to port those simple MP games. Well KA was released frikkin buggy as shit anyway, right? If only, after the 1.02 patch, they had rereleased SFA ported to KA engine.....it would have been so simple and soooo profitable for Interplay.

Well, that's not going to happen any time soon nor at all. Activision cocked up its chance when got all wussy back in the early 2000s when they said they couldn't proceed with making new games unless there was a Star Trek movie tie-in, nevermind that there was already a 40 year established fan base. Based on the way Paramount doesn't give a shit about ST historical consistency, continuity, or established precedent by letting Jar Jar Abrams and his lame writers have full reign, don't look to the studio to lift a finger to make anything quality oriented nor intelligent when it's raking in hundreds of millions on flashy sub-par Star Trek films. The only thing I can hope for is that ST: Excalibur doesn't suck major tribble dung, whenever that gets released.

Well, $$$$ talks and Gene is dead. He would have gone for the fanbase integrity instead of the horse-brained unwashed masses $$$$$ instead.
