Whats your favorite race/species in any Star Trek game?

Postby Thade » Wed Jun 26, 2002 5:47 pm

I personally like Romulans, Federation, and the Hydran Kingdom (Starfleet Command Series).

I like the Federation because they are like me, I am strictly here for self improvement. I dont worry about wealth, I just am on a quest of knoledge.

I like the Romulan's lifestyle. That plotting, scheeming, assasinating lifestyle is kinda cool. :p

The Hydran Kingdom is one of my favorites because they had fighters in SFC 1. Also, I loved their weapons (Weapons I've tried to get into Klingon Academy, but I'm not a weapons specialist). Fusion Beam, Hellbore, and Phaser G, OOOOHHH Baby.

But overall, I love the Federation, I love their ships, the personality of the Empire, and their devotion to the Prime Directive. Also, they aren't a 'Millited Fraction'. They are exploritory.

Alpha Centauri is a special star - not only because it is the closest stellar system to the sun but also because it is one of the relatively few places in the Milky Way Galaxy that may offer terrestrial life conditions. If humanity looks for intelligent life elsewhere, then Alpha Centauri is an excellent candidate.

Sfc isn't an action game, its designed to be stratagy and ability improving. It must be somewhat good if they've made 2 games, and expansion pack, and a 3rd one on the way.

Those games are:
Starfleet Command
Starfleet Command Volume II: Empires at War
Starfleet Command: Orion Pirates Expansion
and Upcomming Starfleet Command III

Compared to SFC, SFC II was utter crud. and it was too slow, and if you had more than 1 ship it got worse.

Klingons......Klingons......Klingons......Klingons......Klingons......
Quark: "I want you to try something for me. Take a sip of this."
Garak: "What is it?"
Quark: "A Human drink, it's called Root Beer."
Garak: "Ahh, I don't know....."
Quark: "Come on....Aren't you in the least bit curious?"
Quark: "..........What d'you think?"
Garak: "It's vile?"
Quark: "I know. It's so bubbly and cloy, and happy."
Garak: "Just like the Federation....."
Quark: "But do you know what's really frightening? If you drink enough of it you begin to like it...."
Garak: "....It's insidious...."
Quark: "....Just like the Federation."

Rommies all the way. Beautiful ships, battle strategy based on sneak attacks, and the way they behave in general makes me grin. I kinda like the Cardassians too, or maybe just Garak since he's the ultra-cool ex spy/assassin/gardener turned tailor.

Seven definitely has some tig bitties, but personally I'd be afraid to do anything with a female drone... who knows what kind of weird gadgets they have in there.

I'd say Tholians and Gorn.
Both big, tough and don't rely on fancy pants manouvers to win, just sheer muscle

A little like myself perhaps

My favourites are the klingons, Hydrans, lyrans, and Tholians. I like the ships and the personality of the Empires.I like the weapons, too, in the cases of the Klingons and Hydrans. Don't like the Federation at all. The ships suck, the weapons blow, and the personality is so Politically Correct it makes me puke. Death to the United Federation of (Soviet Socialist) Planets!

Aside from the biasism to us terrans and our beautifully-made late 23rd-century Starships, I prefer the Tholians, mostly from the SFB/SFC and KA world. A crystalline-based species from another galaxy, an energy "web" and unique crystalline-hull-built ships, it just fascinates me mostly.

I still like other species, like the two other popular ones, Klingons and Romulans (up until Nemesis at least for obvious reasons expressed before), even Gorn (in KA/SFC at least, ship-wise).

I like the Federation. I think the Photon Torpedo is both simple and beautiful. Nothing beats the moment in STVI when you just know Chang's going to be biting the dust big time.

That said, also like the Klingons for the style of fighting that they embody. You go forward, and keep going forward. Anything else had better get out of the way because there be some powerful weapons coming.
