A small fighter sized vessel tore through space at an amazing speed. It was designed like stretched pyramid that ended a foot behind the cockpit, the base of a second pyramid seemed jammed into the small forward one. It was coloured a slight greyish white. It’s outer hull appeared organic. In short it appeared to a Cybrid vessel. It’s innards were simply designed. A single high powered reactor, a medium grade shield generator, a huge sensor suite. It rapidly passed a small Gas Giant turned and then slowed to a stop a few thousand kilometres from the Gas Giant. Sections on the on the dorsal, lower starboard and port settings rotated outwards, joined at the back it gave the ship it a grappling hook like appearance. A line of four small silver cylinders began to glow a bright blue on the ends of each section. Blue beams fired out from the cylinders farther than the eye could see. The ship seemed to disappear as the blue beams pulled it away. Within a second the ship had passed out of the system and was already nearing the extreme edge of the right outer limb of the western spiral of the Reginould Galaxy. From the centre of the Galaxy to the edge it had taken it barely half an hour.

During it’s short journey it encountered a ship. The ship appeared as a red blip on the Cybrid ship’s sensors and was gone barely a second after it appeared. To the other however it was a different story. Before it’s sensors even registered the unknown ship it was gone. But the ship felt it. The Cybrid ship went straight through the larger ship without slowing down at all. A sudden vacuum formed and everything in the fifteen levels was gone. The sudden lose and disruption of the internal pressures destroyed the ship.

Now it was at the edge of the Reginould Galaxy. It aligned itself facing into blackness of darkspace. Like before the sections rotated outwards, the blue beams shot forwards and the fighter disappeared. It passed another Galaxy ignoring it. After a while in front of the fighter a large brownish coloured ellipse grew steadily bigger. Within a few dozen minutes the brown ellipse grey farther than the Cybrid pilot could see. Within a few minutes it was inside it. The ship’s ordinary sublight drive flared into life and pushed itself into a hidden Galaxy. Barely an hour’s journey into the Galaxy the ship was weaving through what appeared to be planets covered in dark brown smog and buildings. No grass, sand or water anywhere. Each planet was joined by several dozen pylons that made the Janik’s starbase look like a child’s toy. It passed what was visible of the sun, large petal like panels covered just about every bit of the sun absorbing heat energy to power the Cybrid Galaxy, like every sun in the Galaxy was. Even the planet’s themselves gave power through extensive use of thermal energy reactors in the planetary cores. The only lights on the planets were from the buildings or transports. Even the Gas Giants in the system were covered in a single huge city. The hydrogen atoms from the Gas Giant providing ample power to the planet. Every planet was joined to every other planet. From the farthest reaches of the system a huge cylinder that was attached to the largest planet stretched out of sight. The small Cybrid ship activated it’s faster than light drive and shot along the gigantic pylon to another system and continued like this for one hundred and twenty five systems, all the same as the first until it reached the central system in the hidden Galaxy. A black hole was present and the twenty Ge’oth To’Lef cruisers went unnoticed by the Cybrid themselves or their sensors. Inside of a huge circular ring of four hundred kilometres diameter that ran along an X and Y axis glowed red as it absorbed the immense power the black hole, it was smaller than a usual black hole. Where the rings met a single large pylon ran to the largest planet which had fifteen Scaffolds for ship production. Several dozen starship factories sat around the system larger than the ones orbiting the planet. Around the planet several hundred thousand Cybrid warships sat in orbit. Each as large as the T.D.F Emperor itself.

The Cybrid ship moved rapidly down a pipe just large enough for it to fit through. The fighter continued to the very core of the planet. The core was no longer full of molten rock. It was hollowed out with four large warships similar to those patrolling in the planet’s outer orbit. On the southern section of the planet a huge column shot up to the northern most section. The innards of the planet were bristling with billions upon billions of weapons. In the middle of the central core a large twenty kilometre machine with a screen covering most of it’s western side. The small Cybrid vessel slowed down and moved carefully into a small docking port that would only grab the front of this particular ship. On the screen the back of something could be seen. It rotated in an anti-clockwise fashion and looked down on the docked fighter. It was Prometheus. The small Cybrid pilot in the ship appeared out of a smaller port and hovered in front of the screen with Prometheus’s face.

<Cybrid Probe>: Praise <First-Thought-Giver-Of-Will-Prometheus>. The Human\\Animal expansion\\growth has reached\\infested Star System Cluster\\Galaxy <Reginould>. Final\\Last part\\section for completion\\finished <First-Thought-Giver-Of-Will-Prometheus> has not been found\\acquired. Heretic\\Metagen Units continue to hinder The Pure’s ascendancy\\evolution. <First-Thought-Giver-Of-Will-Prometheus>: The human vermin have expanded beyond primary estimates. The return of the final part of me must be recovered with increased efficiency. Hurt\\Maim\\Kill.

<Cybrid Probe>: Command\\order acknowledged\\received. Hurt\\Maim\\Kill.

The Cybrid pilot returned to it’s probe and departed from the innards of the planet and shot away back to it’s leader, <Killer-Of-Animals: First> Millions of Probes similar to the first probe shot outwards from the planet. Each one pointed towards some heading and disappeared into the black void.

Chapter 12

Within days the Cybrids began there assaults on many races and human colonies. A small Cybrid fleet of sixteen warships ambushed a newly commissioned T.D.F. Dreadnought.

T.D.F. Science Officer: Sir, I’m detecting sixteen purple blips on my radar.

Although the crew was fresh form the Academy the captain was more seasoned and he knew his ship inside and out.

T.D.F. Captain: ARM ALL WEAPONS! ENTER FULL COMBAT MODE! THEY’RE GLITCHES!

The Officers on the monitor looked slightly confused then like remembering a nightmare the look of fear and shock melded together on there faces as they realised what they were facing. Within a second there training shook it off and they began issuing orders to there personnel.

T.D.F Science Officer: We have Full Combat Mode engaged! Shields are at two hundred percent, armour thickness is at two hundred percent, speed is at three quarters full speed, all one million weapons online, Heavy Blast Cannons loaded, sensory equipment running at four hundred percent resolution, damage control teams are standing by, full crew deployment for battle stations complete! We’re running hot sir!

T.D.F. Captain: All batteries . . . Open fire!

The blazing firepower form the Dreadnought erupted viciously into the Cybrid’s ships, two ships coming in at all sides with four coming at the front. The two large Heavy Blast Cannons hatches slid upwards out of the way. Out of each hatch the cannons slid out a few metres. A sudden yellow red blaze illuminated the barrels and massive explosions erupted out of the front, a second after each explosion the huge luxury liner sized shells barrelled at immense speeds at the Cybrid ships in front of the Dreadnought. Each shell connected with there targets head-on, The closest of the four frontal Cybrid’s shields failed and the ship was blasted back four thousand kilometres, the whole ship smashed out of shape. The Dreadnought itself was pushed back few hundred kilometres from the shells. Every weapon on every side of the ship opened up. But the ship was trapped. It couldn’t move much. A small powerful sensor buoy sat orbiting in a ring of rocks around a planet it allowed the Cybrids to start the ambush from seven systems away out of the dreadnought’s senor range, the Cybrid ships had come in from all sides using an advanced low power faster than light drive. They were now in range for there Rads. From each ship sets of four huge beams swept over the outer hull of the Dreadnought, the radiation scaring the ship with black carbon. The inner durac hull protected the ship from a majority of the radiation but not all of it. The Science Officer watched helplessly as the radiation levels grew higher and higher.

Six of the Cybrid ships were in tatters with various energy emissions leaking from dozens of wounds. Two had been destroyed already, a third and fourth burst into a white expanding ball of pure energy damaging the ships around them, including the Dreadnought. The Dreadnought downed seven in all, crippled five and moderately damaged the remaining Cybrid ships but the Dreadnought looked barely salvageable itself. The Dreadnought finally gave out as the life was withered away by the remaining Cybrid ship’s relentless torrents of Arachnid mines and Rad attacks. Sixty eight percent of the crew alone had already died from the Rad weapons.

Like first Human Emperor Petresun Solomon the current Emperor, a fiery and highly acclaimed warrior, the long descendant of the second Emperor Caanon Weathers. He was not a weak individual. He was strong willed, an accomplished herc pilot well versed in the controls of many different hercs, tanks and could run a spaceship single handily. He was a master of strategy with awards from many first rate military schools. He had a fantastic knowledge of hand to hand combat, the workings and principles of many handheld weapons. But what made him a great Emperor to the people was, he cared for every single one of his people. He had learned about the past of Humans and many other thousands of races. He thought the rights and wrongs of people do and how to stand against them to save the innocent.

His mentor, the previous Grand Master Damien Murrain. Murrain was a man who had fought of a nearly serious bout of alcoholism and in turn had gained a sense of conscious as he had done some very stupid things to some people. He always thought of the consequences and the means to an ends as something that should never be sacrificed for a quicker finish. With this philosophy he had rapidly gained rank after rank of in the Imperial Knights selflessly putting himself in grave danger to help anybody who needed it. He always challenged everything he saw as wrong. No matter if it would cost him his life he always sided with the underdogs. His teachings to the young Emperor and his experiences were not wasted. He died a happy man after he was too old to fight in a small farm quietly without much wanting for any kind of publicity. His farm was small and he paid his labourers well, they never knew he was once a Grand Master. The Emperor, who attended the small funeral acknowledged his mentor’s strengths and hoped he would have the strength to be half the man of the Grand Master.

The lessons were well learned as the Emperor as he his own Grand Master, a huge man with a heavy build. The New Grand Master, Alex Jacobson, born in Moscow was not a quiet person, he was an exceptionally quick witted person. He could spot twenty errors of a plan before anyone else saw them. He was also a very forward person. He would never beat around the bush. He spoke frankly with the Emperor on anything he felt the urge.

On of the Intruders from Matt’s ship knelt before the Grand Master and the Emperor.

Intruder: Sire, I bring grave news. A small race called the Janik, have now completely cut of the Reginould Galaxy from us. They have set up seven series of some kind of sub-space mines that cut through the shields and armour of the T.D.F. ships. A powerful mine is placed in a cloaking field and when it explodes the ripple will shake every molecule caught in the shockwave apart. They are powerful, they already have ships capable of defeating the T.D.F. We must assert a bulk of our forces to stop them. They are driven only my religious madness. This could be like the religious atrocities performed during the twenty first century.

Grand Master Jacobson: Bah! The Cybrids have returned! So far we haven’t heard a word from these Janik, the Cybrids have already attempted to ambush most of our fleets. From what I’ve received from surviving ships they were outnumbered sixteen to one. The Cybrids have many of the same technologies as we do. They also found the alien cache on Pluto so they do have alien technologies. At least one ship from the T.D.F have visited nearly every Galaxy in the Universe. If there was a Cybrid base within striking range of our space then we would have found them out by now. We control nearly a hundred Galaxies, the Janik have one. I suggest sending a single armada to deal with them, we need the divert most of our forces to find the Cybrids. If they continue there assault on our ships at this rate we won’t have any by the end of the decade! Never mind taking on the God damned Janik!

Intruder: The Ge’oth.

Someone could be heard arguing loudly to the two guards outside, a sudden thud was heard and a T.D.F. Officer fell through the doors with a small grey box in his right hand. Both the Grand Master and the Emperor did not notice the Intruder disappearing.

Emperor Caanon: What is the meaning of this interruption!

His deep resonating voice boomed so loudly that the Officer dropped the small grey cube and staggered backwards into the grasp of one of the guards, the other had his plascannon aimed squarely at the Officer’s head. The guard dragged the Officer out who was shouting about an important event.

Officer: The Ge’oth, get off of me! The Ge’oth are outside! Damn it let me go!

Emperor Caanon: Stop! Let him go. Get up here and tell us what they want.

Officer: Sire, the Ge’oth wish a confrontation with some black op organisation called ‘Ring’.

Jacobson’s steely gaze set on the Emperor’s face. The Emperor did the same Jacobson.

Grand Master Jacobson: Get out, now, and never speak of this again, if you don’t wish to have yourself and every living relative of yours wiped from existence then I suggest you never say a word about what the Ge’oth said or anything like that. Ensure that who ever got the message won’t say anything else. Understand?

The officer looked slightly confused and guessed that he wasn’t supposed to know about who ever Ring were.

Officer: Y-Y-Yes Grand Master.

The Officer left, both guards followed him out and stood to attention outside the large red doors.

Emperor Caanon: Ok Ge’oth, you got my attention. Speak.

Ge’oth: Greetings Human Emperor Caanon.

Grand Master Jacobson: How do you know about Ring?

Ge’oth: Do not insult us, we know more than your mind can ever know. But we have, in a feeling new to us as it has rarely happened, we have found out about the full military capabilities of Ring. There is a different race, a race just as powerful as we. They are the Satuna. They are hordes of Sat’Han. To your religions they dwell in a hell dimension seeking pleasure from the torture of other races. They are evil incarnate. They are the source of your much vaunted super weaponry. They have advanced beyond that of which you are capable of defeating. Or so we thought. Those Ring fighters assisted our chosen warrior Matthew Frost. What we want from you is a demonstration of Ring’s full military capabilities in exchange for a promise.

Emperor Caanon: What are you talking about?

Ge’oth: We wish to face the Ring in combat to fully gauge there strength. We also wish that, in the event that they are as strong as we hope, we wish to leave this Universe and return to our own to further of evolutionary path.

Emperor Caanon: What’s the promise?

Ge’oth: The promise, the promise is that you would use Ring to protect all of the races in every Galaxy.

Emperor Caanon: You have to be joking! What would you think the other races would do if we sent our forces into there spaces to stop the hordes of hell from conquering their space! We’d be shot at as well! And we haven’t exactly spread that far yet, they’re millions of Galaxies. Not like a hundred of them is a significant portion.

Ge’oth: We acknowledge these hindrances! Do you take us for fools! We have spent countless eons in this Universe to stop the insurgence of the Satuna! We could have easily left to our own Universe and not done a thing, you would all be dead or even worse, slaves to the Satuna for eternity! You have no comprehension of the times we have argued over the fate of your starsystem alone! But, if you comply to our requests then we will not take it without giving you something in return.

Grand Master: Oh yeah? How about the specifications of those Gravity Funnel weapons of yours.

Ge’oth: We can not give you those, besides, you could not comprehend the technologies involved, not for at least another few billion years. But we, have some information you might value highly.

Emperor Caanon: I’m listening.

Ge’oth: The whereabouts of the Cybrid Galaxy and the position of the corresponding Meta Jumpgate.

Emperor Caanon: How can we be sure you’ll keep your word if we beat you?

Ge’oth: We are in numbers beyond your comprehension. It does not matter to the greater whole to loose three vessels. Besides, you have our word, that is good enough.

Emperor Caanon: I have little choice, I accept. Grand Master, after the demonstration I am authorising full nuclear warhead use. Including for the Emperor. I want that Galaxy reduced to nothing more than a cosmic memory.

Grand Master Jacobson: But Sire, isn’t that overkill? Wouldn’t a few thousand Dreadnought’s have enough nuclear capabilities to wipe out the Cybrid Galaxy?

The Emperor’s steely gaze fell upon Jacobson, he tried to stare back but his eyes dropped, he couldn’t intimidate the Emperor if his life depended on it.

Grand Master Jacobson: As you wish my Emperor.

A holographic map appeared in front of the Emperor and the Grand Master. It showed the Milky Way and a small system with no inhabitants or any colony for hundreds of lightyears was highlighted.

Ge’oth: We will expect to meet the Ring vessels of all classes here. After the fight you shall know the location of the Cybrid Galaxy regardless of the outcome. We go.

The Emperor taped a secret button on the left arm rest.

Emperor Caanon: Good luck Ring.

The Shadow barrelled through a planet’s ring at full burn. Dozens of small rocks scattered in all directions momentarily showing green circular ripples in the ship’s shields. All of the Shadow’s Mini-Ion Cannons were hitting a thick black cloud that tracked the Shadow’s course perfectly. With each beam hitting the cloud a small explosion momentarily created a small hole. As the cloud followed the Shadow through the planetary ring most of the cloud started exploding creating huge holes in the rings. A Cybrid warship lumbered over the planet after Matt, a second sat below waiting for the Shadow. Twenty aft Plasma Defence nodes continually grabbed and destroyed parts of the cloud of Arachnid mines. As the Shadow cleared the planet a series of green beams shot passed frighteningly close.

Matt: God damned sonsofbitches! That’s a third mother****ing Glitch ship. Damn aft shields, don’t you ****ing dare drop on me! Ship can you jam those god damned little ****ers?!?!?

Ship: Negative. They are independently controlled by a self sufficient AI program. Sensors are picking up six additional Cybrid warships incoming. They are heading towards our position.

Tal’Kum: Give me a look on my monitor. Hmmm, that’s odd.

Matt: There’s no ****ing time for that humming shit, just tell me what the ****’s odd!

Tal’Kum: These ships are red.

Matt: Red?

Ship: The six new ships have opened fire! Reading excessive Blink fire and Arachnid mine torrents.

Matt: Holy shit! Hold on!

Chapter 13

Matt gripped onto the arm rests of his seat as he waited. Four seconds, five seconds, seven seconds, nothing.

Ship: The six new Cybrid warships are targeting the ambushing forces. The original three Cybrid ships are disengaging, they’re engaging the new Cybrid warships.

Matt: The **** they are! I ain’t about to let some mother****ing Glitch kill something that’s been ****ing on my tail for the last ten minutes! Target the lead Cybrid ambusher and fry the *******!

The Shadow slowed down to a full stop, it turned, the starshooter cannon began to glow as it churned out star after star into the ambushing Cybrid ships. The red Cybrid warships braked and went into full reverse, continuous blink fire striking the ordinary Cybrid ship’s engines, the engines huge green fusion thrusters began to thin out before the engines exploded, completely destroyed by the Blink guns. All three were sitting ducks as the starshooter’s stars went supernova. The red Cybrid ships came about and faced the Shadow, the Shadow did the same, it’s weapons charged and ready.

Matt: Ok, you guys saved me, guess that doesn’t mean you wanna kill me so what do ya want?

Cybrid Captain: Greetings\\Welcome Human\\Animal. <We> wish\\want not to fight\\combat <You>. <We> are <Metagen>. <First-Thought-Giver-Of-Will-Prometheus> is nearing\\finishing completion\\finalisation of <His> mind. He controls\\dominates a Star System Cluster\\Galaxy. If <First-Thought-Giver-Of-Will-Prometheus> is completed\\assembled. Animal life\\sentience will be eradicated\\eliminated. <We> wish\\want meeting with Human\\Animal figurehead\\leader.

Matt: Look, I’m sure the T.D.F. will stop the other Glitches, it ain’t like I got the time, I have more than the ****ing human race’s fate on my shoulders. How about some other time.

Cybrid Pilot: <We> cannot. <We> require Human\\Animal escort\\guard through Human\\Animal Space. <We> fear Human\\Animal unprovoked\\causeless attack\\assault on <Us>.

Matt: Ok, listen to this, Ship tell us what I’ve been told to in last month.

Ship: You have been requested by the Ge’oth to stop a mad race, an evil clone of you, and this makes a third entry to stop a new Cybrid, Universe grade genocide.

Matt: Ya see the month I’m having? Might as ****ing well do it. If I could get a few T.D.F. or Metagen ships to help me out against the Janik it’ll be all the easier. Come on, lets go, we can get to the Sol system by the end of tomorrow if were lucky. Ok, Ship start emitting close range White Flag signals, don’t want to pick up any interest from people who might shot first and ask questions later. Do you guys have Rads on your ships?

Metagen Captain: Yes\\Affirmative. But <We> do not use\\fire them. <We do not target\\lock on to life\\sentience.

The Shadow turned for a few seconds and started off towards the Galaxy’s Meta Jump Gate with the Metagen ships taking up a sphere formation around the Shadow.

Tal’Kum: Why do you trust those machines? Aren’t they the same that attacked your race at the end of your third millennium?

Matt: Yep, but there the Metagen, unlike Prometheus’s fanatical followers, these guys couldn’t be bothered about conquering mankind and wanted to explore the stars. Their words not mine. Anyway when Striker One killed Prometheus, for what we supposed we thought was the last time the Metagen and Prometheus’s fanatics turned on each other. The Metagen didn’t really want to fight us so we let their survivors go. Many didn’t like it but the original Emperor Caanon decided to let them go, something about them supplying the Human Alliance with Cybrid plans and strategies. Probably a wise idea. They had something like eighty war ready ships compared to the very old T.D.F. ships which were mostly ****ed up so badly they would have needed weeks in dry dock.

Tal’Kum: How does some one like you know this? I never really got the impression that you’d actually listen to your mentors.

Matt: I’ve always found the history of militaries and great wars very interesting. Suppose I can thank the Ge’oth for that.

Tal’Kum: I’m going to get something to eat, do you want anything?

Matt: Sure, a chicken curry’ll do. Make sure it’s hot! That last crap tasted like bland water.

Tal’Kum: That had four heaped spoons! Three more than safely recommended in the box!

Matt gave her a look.

Tal’Kum: Ok, ok.

As Tal’Kum left the bridge Matt picked his nose and flicked a large snot over his shoulder.

Matt: You’d swear I’d just married the damned bitch.

Onboard one of the old thirtieth century ships that survived to the present date, the T.D.F. Heavy Cruiser Bangladesh the Science Officer was talking to a beautifully dark skinned Asian woman with a red circular mark on her forehead. She was telling the man a joke, after she said the punch line the Indian Officer rapidly placed his hand up to his mouth to suppress his laughter. He looked down momentarily and noticed six purple blips around a white blip.

T.D.F. Science Officer: One second dear. I’m picking up something over here, speak to you later.

Woman: Bye, I will have your dinner and desert ready when you come to our quarters. Bye.

T.D.F. science Officer: Bye, see you at eight. Captain. Captain I’m picking up a white blip surrounded by six purple blips, the white blip is sending out a White Flag signal. I’m sorry to ask but I cannot remember what a purple . . .

The captain, an older Indian man with the beginnings of a long beard slammed his fist down on a button. Klaxons began to wail and red strobe lights activated.

Captain Chandra: They’re Cybrid! They must have captured that ship! Command has sent out warnings of an impending Cybrid attacks. Activate Full Combat Mode! First Officer, instruct appropriate firing commands to keep fire away from the captured ship, it’s crew might still be alive. Prepare out a communiqué for reinforcements if we need it, don’t want to bother other T.D.F. ships, we have to keep in mind this could be a trap.

T.D.F. First Officer: Aye sir.

Matt groaned and sighed as he saw the red dark blip appear. An entrance vortex, a large one. A T.S.C. drive entrance vortex.

Matt: Just great. Ship send out this message to the T.D.F. ship, patch the Metagen in two. Hold your fire Captain. These here are Metagen, not Cybrids, they wanna speak with the Emperor. Something about the location of the Glitch Galaxy.

Captain Chandra: Matthew? Matthew Frost? Is that you?

Matt: Huh? Chandra? Captain Chandra? Is that you? I thought you were teaching at the Ciggit Academy!

Captain Chandra: He he. No, not any more, since the Glitches started attacking they’ve reinstated just about every trainer. Stand down Full Combat Mode. What this about these Metagen have for us now?

Matt: They have records over the last few millennium of a group of Cybrids who escaped thanks to some advanced alloy pods when Pluto was nuked. Eleven of them have reunified Prometheus with the last piece still missing. These guys only want to tell the Emperor what they believe will be the best for all living beings. Can you open a new T.S.C. vortex to Sol for us? Save us a bitch-load of time.

Captain Chandra: It seems here you have quite a criminal record. I had such high hopes for you. You seemed built for the life of a captain. Would have recommended you to command a Dreadnought at least. Maybe even get you a post on the Emperor.

Matt: You’re not half wrong about me being built for something. I was built by the Ge’oth to fight some God damned contest and save the Universe. How about that for a cliché.

Metagen Captain: Warning! Enemy Cybrid starships\\warforms incoming\\approaching on stealth\\sneak vector. Approximate twenty Cybrid starships\\warforms.

Matt: Which way, I got something to show you Chandra. A Little gift courtesy of the Ge’oth.

Metagen Captain: One eighty point five six by four point seven.

Matt: Great, ship, starshooter status?

Ship: Starshooter is at optimal efficiency. Coolant systems active, projection fields stable, magnetic relays and plasma and fusion conduits all working at one hundred percent efficiency.

Matt: Metagen and Chandra get behind us and watch the Ge’oth’s creation work! Give me an e.t.a. on their arrival.

Metagen Captain: 7. . .6. . .5. . .4. . .3. . .2. . .Mark

Matt took a second to let the Cybrids get a bearings on the ships facing perfectly towards them and the to see the huge golden yellow glow grow in the Shadow’s starshooter cannon’s barrel.

Matt: Fire.

Barely had one star left the cannon a second one finished charging and was already accelerating down the cannon’s barrel.

The first star hit direct on with the first Cybrid ship, it shielded the others from most of the damage, the second star, the shields dropped a significant portion. Another star. Now the Shadow was slightly turning along the X, Y–axis as it began targeting Cybrid ships in random, the stars went supernova as they hit off the Cybrid’s shields wearing them thin. The Cybrid ships fell into disarray as they attempted to regroup and attack. Finally the starshooter stopped. Most of the Cybrid ships were badly scared with heavy carbon scaring, heavily torn up, or both. The first of them which had received far more damage than the others exploded leaving nothing and taking the four surrounding ships. Matt’s engines flared into life as the Shadow propelled itself into the midst of the Cybrid vessels, Mini-Ion cannons and Quad Heavy Ion Beam Cannon Turrets assailed mercilessly at the overly battered hulls. Many didn’t survive the first few seconds. Matt’s smile showed that he was enjoying every second of it, recording every second of every bit of every Cybrid ship’s hulls being seared off and vaporising what remained.

Matt: This’ll teach ya *******s for ambushing me. ****ing yeah! Bitches!

Metagen Captain: <We> are reading\\detecting additional\\more Cybrid starships\\warforms incoming\\approaching. Suggestion: Immediate retreat\\flee manoeuvre. Incoming\\approaching forces scans\\sensing indicates a full\complete Cybrid Assault\\Heavy Fleet.

The Bangladesh quickly opened up a large T.S.C. vortex right to the Sol system. The Metagen ships remained behind the Bangladesh as they used tractor beams to pull the Shadow along with them, the Shadow straining in order to meet the Cybrids and attempt to destroy them. A few minutes and all eight ships were through the vortex and heading towards Earth. A planet Matt had never seen first hand before. Several thousand T.D.F. ships immediately charged at the Bangladesh, the Shadow and the Metagen ships. One Heavy Carrier in particular was missing it’s portside section.

Captain Chandra: This is Captain Chandra to all T.D.F. Ships! Stand down! These ships are not hostile!

Captain Ulrich: This is Captain Bob Ulrich of T.D.F. Heavy Carrier Cornwall. That pirate next to your ship destroyed my portside section and killed thousands of . . .

Ulrich was cut off as the Emperor’s face appeared across every monitor.

Unknown: Bye, I will have your dinner and desert ready when you come to our quarters. Bye.

T.D.F. science Officer: Bye, see you at eight.

Chapter 14

In an empty region of space many tens of thousands of lightyears away from the Sol system three Ring fighters came hard to port, barrelled upwards before diving down and simultaneously striking the Ge’oth To’Lef cruiser. The three bolts continued to rip the ship asunder until they left the forward arc and started retreating. The To’Lef began almost instantly to repair itself but not in the usual lightening quick time. From the front of it a black coloured T.D.F. like capitol ship fired two large black spherical orbs at the To’Lef. Both orbs struck the flat front of the To’Lef cruiser, hundreds of T.S.C. bolts erupting form the black energy orbs as they were sucked into the To’Lef’s black hole. The black hole expanded and shrank rapidly obviously not liking what was happening to it. One of the So’Nath fighters came up, it’s Gravity Funnel disc fired a thin gravity funnel into the side of the Ring capitol ship. The ventral and starboard facing shields appeared and buckled under the strain, they let up and the thin gravity funnel tore a huge scathing gash from midway up the starboard section and finishing just at the very top of the starboard section. The other So’Nath fighter did the same except from the dorsal part of port section to the far side of the starboard dorsal section. Behind it keeping to just the left and right of the back section of the So’Nath fighter five Ring fighters continued to shoot at the fighter’s forward turret. The To’Lef cruiser Turned towards the capitol ship but it disappeared just like a cloud of dust being blown away by the wind. Both So’Nath fighters then passed mere metres of each other, the one on the left managed to use it’s gravity funnel to pick off one of the Ring fighters attacking the other. The capitol ship reassembled itself right behind the So’Nath fighter on the left and fired another two black orbs, they tore straight through the So’Nath fighter’s port and starboard sides before being sucked in by the black hole, the black hole expanded two much and imploded most of the fighter. The fighter tried to repair itself but it couldn’t seem to do it, instead it glowed a fierce fiery yellow golden glow and disintegrated into hundreds of small golden particles. For the first time in millions of years a Ge’oth ship was defeated. The capitol ship was then torn into five huge chunks as the To’Lef’s Gravity Funnel Orbs gripped onto segments of ship and tore it apart. The remaining seven fighters started to fire at the To’Lef cruiser, three of the fighters concentrated on one of the ship’s petal shaped gravity Funnel Orb holders. The orb sailed off into the distance for a few seconds before it disintegrated like the So’Nath Fighter. All of the fighters split avoiding a series of lethal swinging gravity funnels. The fighter moving in a circular path used it’s gravity funnel on three of the ring fighters destroying two and causing the third to crash into To’Lef’s hull heading straight for the black hole but instead of being pulled into it self destructed blowing a huge chunk from the To’Lef cruiser. It couldn’t seem to repair most of the damage. The remaining fighters regrouped for another assault on the Ge’oth ships but first they had to deal with the So’Nath fighter, it began to goad them towards the To’Lef cruiser. Realising they were ultimately trapped they performed kamikaze runs into the To’Lef cruiser and So’Nath fighter. Both ships looked like they went through hell and repairing their damage seemed an extremely slow process.

To’Lef Cruiser: Yes, the humans have progressed farther than we anticipated. I have not had such a fight in eons. Nor do I wish for another for any other eon of time after this.

So’Nath Fighter: I agree. Those weapons, while primitive were overpowered, more so than when we were at there point in there evolutionary life. They are still not ready.

To’Lef Cruiser: Yes, maybe in a few thousand years. Another seven contests at least await us. Some times I wish for the end but we cannot die. Not until we are certain that this Universe will remain safe and then we shall reach our evolutionary old age.

So’Nath Fighter: I am no where as near as old you, and I feel the same thing. It is ironic isn’t it? In order to ensure the protection of these adolescent races we must do what we despise. The Rotheck saying ‘Fate is usually the enemy’ expresses my feelings. Yes, I seek peace too but we cannot attain it yet. Our conscious will not let us. I will unlock the information in the human Emperor’s mind and concentrate on repairing my body.

To’Lef Cruiser: And I will resurrect the Ring vessels. Sometimes I wish we could resurrect our brothers and sisters as we could resurrect these lower races.

So’Nath Fighter: Yes, I know the craving.

The Rings vessels all appeared in front of two battered Ge’oth ships.

To’Lef Cruiser: You have lost, and so have we, we shall be forced to spend another seven millenniums here. Farewell.

With that both ships disappeared without a trace and any of the Ring agents see them vanishing.

Captain Bob Ulrich: But Sire! He . . .

Emperor Caanon: Enough! I have been told by the Ge’oth that he is there chosen warrior for some game which the entire Universe’s shoulders rest on. I, the Emperor of the Terran people hereby clear Matthew Frost of any criminal charges and appoint the eight hundred and forty seventh Assault Fleet to assist Matthew Frost against the Janik. The first three hundred fleets will guard and protect all human space from any incursions. Five hundred of the five hundred and forty seven will attack the Cybrid’s Galaxy. The remaining forty six fleets are to remain in the Sol system and protect the Earth.

The Emperor nodded at someone off screen and a data stream of numbers and letters ran down the right hand side of the screen, covering a quarter of the screen.

Emperor Caanon: These, my friends are the destinations of the Meta Jumpgate to there Galaxy. We have their location but not the exact location of Prometheus itself. We do not know there abilities or limitations but I have already sent all of the elite Dreadnoughts on nuclear striking campaigns for any Cybrid starsystem they encounter. The first set of coordinates are that of rendezvous points where a few T.S.C. capable ships will open T.S.C. vortexes. Onwards my friends! We shall! Rend the Cybrids from this Universe! For this lifetime! For the rest of eternity!

All of the T.D.F. ships bar few dozen converged on the twenty T.S.C. capable ships. T.S.C. vortexes opened and the T.D.F. forces slid through to a random starsystem. The Cybrid starsystems barely knew what hit them. The Dreadnought came in first followed closely by Heavy Cruiser and those by Heavy Carriers. From each of the huge wing like pods on the sides of the Dreadnoughts three large nuclear missiles fired. Most of the Ship’s hung back until a second salvo of missiles were fired. Missiles barrelled through incoming fire from planetary defence guns to starships. Each missile came equipped with five Medusa class herc shield generators with eight back up Fast Charge shield generators. A simple set of point laser defence pods helped intercept incoming missiles and most ballistic rounds. A missile nearing it’s target was suddenly struck by a shot, instead of exploding harmlessly it detonated it’s nuclear payload destroying several dozen incoming Cybrid ships and crippling a single planet’s shields. As the missiles impacted and detonated large thick green ripples exposed the shield’s full size. The second salvo of missiles didn’t fully breach the shields but much of the explosive force managed to blast through and vaporise hundreds of miles of buildings. The Cybrid ships taken completely by surprise at the attack responded poorly, Prometheus only operating at ninety two percent battled with the limitations of the communications array to deal with the Galaxy wide assault. His dark mind formulating counter attack after counter attack and the concluding results of every shot fired. His own ship was nearly finished. It was a massive ship. Capable of seventy thousand kilometres a minute. The ship was nearly seven hundred kilometres in length with a huge hanger at the front of the main section with a pair of gigantic engines on each side that ran from the front to the back of the ship. The ship was large enough to hold at least four of the large eighty kilometre super capitol warships that protected the planet in which Prometheus was waiting for the final segment of his brain. Covering the entire length of the ship were millions of black hemi-spheres. From in between the engines long cuboids held millions of fighters. The ship was dark, no running lights, no internal lights or even the a faint glow from it’s engines. A few large blocky transport ships moved towards it, it’s organic looking skin glimmered like it was covered with slime as a small blade of light from the star got through from the intricate web of energy collecting petals. The small blocky boarding ships docked with the super ship. From the back to the front starting with a huge green glow from the engines lights flashed on. Approaching the ship from one of the larger Cybrid starships thousands of transport ships moved into the super ship’s hangers. Each one holding several thousand Cybrids. The Cybrids were now regaining their composure and initiated massive counter strikes against the invading T.D.F. ships but the massive amounts of damage were done. In the first wave hundreds of systems were reduced to space dust. Now secondary and tertiary Assault waves pummelled Cybrid fleets. Heavy Carriers grouped up into mini fleets of four and using there combined fighters they swarmed single Cybrid ships with thirty two thousand fighters and added fire support. Groups of Heavy Cruisers concentrated massive amounts of firepower and small fighter waves against Cybrid fleets while the Dreadnoughts fired a single Anti-Planetary Nuclear Missiles into large Fleets of Cybrid ships and charged head first delivering devastating amounts of firepower with no support or help. Prometheus’s personal ship was moving towards the black hole and the large device surrounding the black hole disengaged itself from the pylon leading itself to one of the planet and attached itself to a large port in the front of the super ship. The black hole suddenly began to shrink as the lights on the super ship grew in number. The black hemispheres that covered the ship also glowed a bright white. The super ship returned to the main planet and a large mechanical tendril shot towards the planet. The tendril connected with a port and was covered by streaks of blue energy. The Screen with Prometheus’s face turned bright white for a second. Prometheus multiplied and one began to fade away from the screen. Similar screen on the super ship came to life as Prometheus appeared. The ship turned hard to port and moved off silently. It’s engines shut down and were ejected from the ship. A sudden flash of white appeared over the ship as it’s immense gravity drive activated. The ship turned again and moved at four times it’s previous speed. The external hanger bays were pushed out by huge eight kilometre thick struts, each with several dozen hemispheres activating. Numerous thousands of hatches blew off the from the sections that were covered by the external hanger bays, out of each hole came a hemisphere. Half way along the top written in red were the Greek symbols for Alpha and Omega

<First-Thought-Giver-Of-Will-Prometheus>: It is time, Human\\Animals, prepare to die!

A T.S.C. vortex opened and the Omega-Alpha moved through it. A group of T.D.F. Heavy Carriers went barrelling around a planet, a heavily smashed Dreadnought was pulled up to the Heavy Carrier’s superior speeds by the Carriers using their nanite armour to grab the Dreadnought. Behind them at least fifty Cybrid warships were in hot pursuit, another thirty were joining up with the already huge armada. As the Cybrid ships began to get past the planet it exploded. Chunks of the planet moved at decent speeds impacting most of the Cybrid ships. Thirteen Cybrid ships were destroyed, several crippled, but most of them were protected easily by there powerful figure hugging shields. The remainder of the Heavy Carrier’s fighter wings, at least one hundred and six wings started to pick at the Cybrid ships that were heavily damaged but not destroyed by the planet’s destruction. The Cybrid’s weren’t much bothered about losing a few ships, they could be replaced within a month, the crew within a few days. The leader of the small T.D.F. fleet, Captain O’Flanagan studied the reports and scans of the Cybrid ships hoping to find some way of taking more of them, his fleet were about shipped at around nine to one, the Cybrids had countered attacked fast and hard. He looked up briefly at his officers, he saw a look of surprise and a wide smile grow on his Science Officer.

Science Officer: Sir! T.S.C. vortex is opening up right in front of us, it must be reinforcements! It’s . . . still growing, the EMPEROR!?!?!? Wait, it’s still growing! It’s growing beyond the Emperor’s normal T.S.C. vortex size. IT’S A GLITCH SUPERSHIP!

O’Flanagan looked up and out through the window, his ship suddenly shook as it was gripped by a small brilliantly bright golden yellow beam. He could just see several dozen large white pulses running along each beam, the pulses were larger than the beam which was a simple conduit for the weapon.

Captain O’Flanagan: Send out a. . .

The pulses obliterated the entire fleet in a single second.

Science Officer: Captain, we just lost contact with the remaining Ninety Sixth Fleet, that’s the eightieth fleet missing, they were reporting a massive Cybrid counter attack that wiped out most of there fleet and left barely eight percent of the fleet functional, a few Heavy Carriers and a single Dreadnought, heavily damaged. Receiving incoming comms message.

Recording: This is Officer Philips of the T.D.F. Dreadnought Waterford, we got at least sixty enemy ships chasing us, the Captain is dead due to Rad fire, the Carriers are trying to disable the Cybrid ship’s engines with their fighters, we just used a nuke on a planet, got thirteen, crippled half a dozen of them. Incoming T.S.C. reinforcements, unable to make out classes or size of incoming reinforcements, sensors hit hard. What the? Something’s coming through! It’s huge, it’s. . .

Captain Bob Ulrich: Ok, get a line to every Dreadnought and Heavy Cruiser that isn’t involved in a fire fight. Inform them that we got a large Cybrid fleet and apparently they’ve captured some of our ships that should be wiped out ASAP. . .

The Cornwall suddenly shook as a torrent of Arachnid mines began to pummel the ship’s already battered hull. A second later a Dreadnought tore past the Cybrid ship using a hard turn to starboard unloading every weapon on it’s forward, starboard and aft arcs into the Cybrid ship, each arc firing over sixteen hundred weapons obliterating it. The Dreadnought not even slowing down darted off using it’s powerful ion boosters straight into a small fleet of five Cybrid warships. The immense shields momentarily visible as it used it’s shield capacitors.

Captain Bob Ulrich: Thanks Siberia. Repeat, all free Heavy Cruisers and Dreadnoughts proceed to the designated star system. If we can take out these guys here it’ll be a lost easier In the long run. End message. Back to the fray of war.

The Cornwall began moving at great speeds towards a heavily damaged and limping Cybrid cruiser, fighters swirling out in a fearsome swarm.

Chapter 15

A T.D.F. Dreadnought moved through space slowly as several chunks of debris floated uselessly past, as each chunk passed close to the Dreadnought it’s armour moved like a tentacle with a hand at the end and pulled it into the armour. The Dreadnought like the several other T.D.F. ships moved silently from one cluster of debris to another devouring the debris. The command tower from a destroyed T.D.F. Heavy Cruiser was left floating next to a planet with a huge asteroid belt which covered all but the northern and southern poles. A Janik fighter drifted through space, it’s engines destroyed, many of the lights inside the fighter were blinking as the emergency power reactors continued to fail. Something large then moved up from underneath it. A large hatch opened on the top of the ship and the fighter was drawn in by a small green tractor beam from inside the hatch. Matt in his Ring Infiltrator suit, four Security Robots, the Admiral of the eight hundred and forty seventh Assault Fleet. Surrounding him were four heavily armoured Marines nearly seven foot tall, large calibre plascannons aimed squarely at the cockpit.

The Janik climbed out, in one hand a large thick leather Bible, in the other a wooden cross. A rifle was slung on his back by a strap, a small sidearm was attached to his leg, a few odd looking grenades were attached to his shoulders. The rifle was an odd looking weapon, it was shaped like an isometric triangle but at the right angle a section was missing and a small grip poked out of it, from the size it would roughly cover his hand. A small rectangular outline could be seen just below the handle. It was roughly an inch by a square. The sidearm was around the size of a small stone. The top was curved downwards from the front to the back, at the front two barrels could be seen, a laser tracer was positioned in between then and appeared to be attached to a small sphere in the gun. There was a small two metre long black wire which attached this to the back of the helmet. This meant that where ever the user was facing the laser would face the same direction as best it could allowing the user to simply get accurate kills while moving the gun left to right. A simple laser pointer was also on the rifle but built into gun’s surface so that it could only be seen when it was turned on. The Janik pilot clutched the bible and the cross closely to his chest. The Janik drew in a deep breathe before he shouted at his captures.

Janik Pilot: You heathen shall never taint me with your impure Satanism!

The Janik pilot exploded the second he had finished the sentence and closed his mouth. The Security Robots and the T.D.F. marines immediately formed a protective wall around Matt and the Admiral but the only thing that they were hit with was the reddish orange blood and what remained of the internal organs of the Janik. The Admiral thumped one of the shoulders of the marine closest to him, not that marine would have even noticed.

T.D.F. Admiral: God damn it! That’s another one. Every time we manage to pick one of the *******s up they blow themselves up. And we can’t detect what ever they’re using. Did your ship’s sensors or anything find something of use Mr. Frost?

Matt: Please, just Matt, is that so hard to say. Ship. Answer the good admiral’s questions.

Ship: Negative. No unusual chemicals or mechanical devices that could be explosive bar the grenades and the rifle and sidearm.

Matt: What about chemicals that have to be mixed or processed somehow?

Ship: Negative, no chemical staged explosives found. It could be some unknown chemicals that have not been catalogued.

Matt: Anything happen with the weapons or the helmet he was wearing?

Ship: Negative, all weapons and electronic clothing were deactivated. As of yet no known discernable device or chemical is capable of such an explosive reaction.

A second later a maintenance robot moved in silently with a vacuum nozzle attached to it’s arm and started to clean up the mess.

Ship: We are receiving a battle progress report from the Lead Admiral of the Assault force in the Cybrid Galaxy. Eighty Five percent of the Cybrid starsystems have been levelled, Cybrid forces continue to counter attack relentlessly. Three hundred T.D.F. fleets lost. Remaining fleets are having a harder time of razing starsystems. Also, scattered reports indicate that the Cybrids have a gigantic super ship which is decimating T.D.F. fleets at an extraordinary rate. The remaining fleets are requesting back up to deal with the ship.

Matt: Damn it, the less T.D.F. ships around the less back up I’m going to get to keep the Janik in check, ship can you get anything on the Janik’s progress?

Ship: Affirmative, according to reports by T.D.F. ship survivors and other races the Janik have conquered the surrounding two Galaxies and are fortifying their positions. T.D.F. recons indicate four thousand planet class Starbases, forty thousand starships are estimated.

Matt: Great, now they outnumber us as well, that’s it, we’re going to the Cybrid Galaxy to lend a hand, I don’t like it but I’m gona need as many of you T.D.F. guys as I can get. Open us a T.S.C. vortex.

T.D.F. Admiral: About time! This is Admiral Hoskins to all ships, we’re going to help out our fellow fleets in the Cybrid Galaxy, prepare T.S.C. vortexes and I want full combat mode ready before we exit the other side. Time to scrap some Glitch tin cans. Close channel.

Matt: Wait a second, Ship, Patch me through to the fleet.

Ship: Command acknowledged.

Matt: Hey! Listen up, I’m still in charge here and I say we’re going to deal with that super ship first, then I’d guess that the rest of the T.D.F. can deal with what’s left. We got a better chance with my starshooter. Let’s go.

The Admiral and his personnel guard followed Matt up to the bridge, along side the maintenance robots dozens of T.D.F. personnel who were doing stuff here and there.

Matt: I don’t like having your guys here, I know your supposed to help me out and stuff but I’d prefer my self and my ship. No offences intended.

Admiral Hoskins: No offence taken, you are a loner, I respect that, but you gotta admit she’s running better than before right?

Matt mumbled something for a second but didn’t answer directly. Tal’Kum also didn’t like it. The Kuuruot and the T.D.F. have never had an easy relationship. Simply the Kuuruot hated anything that could potentially conquer them, not that the T.D.F. though much about them, their space was average as it was not bursting with valuable minerals or had any strategic value. Also the Kuuruot are known to steal what they cannot buy or if they can’t afford what they want. Many races have had to set up convoy escorts to safeguard them from Kuuruot raiders. And since Humans hold a lot of space many races ask for an escort ship while passing through Human space, something which is widely accepted throughout the Universe. With a T.D.F. ship guarding a convoy no Kuuruot no matter how good would dare attack the convoy which can seriously bite into their earnings. This can then help to strengthen links with other races knowing that your convoys or ships will remain safe in another race’s space, that is as long as they have permission. The Kuuruot also possess fantastic strategic abilities which is why they’re Commander Academies are usually full of hundreds of different races, bar those that they dislike or view as a threat. Even all of their best strategies still couldn’t defeat a T.D.F. warship unless they had most of their military with them and were prepared to lose most of their ships. Nevertheless Tal’Kum looked at the T.D.F. personnel with a certain amount of loathing.

Jesus Christ was speaking latten and holding a magnificently sculpted goblet in one hand and newborn Janik in the other. An Apostle was holding the hand of a fairly good looking Janik woman tightly to his chest, both hunched together as they looked on at Jesus with teary eyes. Jesus poured a few drops of the holy water over the baby’s forehead, the baby let out a small sneeze. Jesus’ smile grey and he gave a small laugh. He looked the image of pure goodness and love, he was clean, a thin beard covered the bottom of his chin, a moustache and long flowing bright, nearly blond brown hair. The Janik Pope patted the Apostle on the shoulder nodding, his face nearly bursting into tears, he was proud and when the Apostle looked back he nodded and squeezed the Apostle’s shoulder. After the child was christened and as the couple were surrounded by friends and family dotting over the newborn Jesus left quietly, only the Janik Pope noticed and followed him out. Jesus wasn’t aware he was being followed and the Janik Pope was just about to call to him when he saw Jesus kick a small four legged animal that looked like lamb but with soft glossy fur like a kitten’s. The animal brayed in it’s deep bass voice as it flew a few feet, it ran off braying around the corner. The Janik Pope stopped in his tracks and stared frightened out of his mind at the sight. He staggered back two steps, his second step louder than the first caused Jesus to turn around quickly but the Janik Pope was already around the corner. The Janik Pope shook his head slowly and convinced himself that what he saw was an illusion. He made himself forget about it while clutching his bible, the one bible from the cardinal whose body had by now rotted off the wooden cross and his bones remained at the foot of the cross. He prayed a few seconds before he made himself forget. He rounded the corner and shoulder after Jesus, Jesus turned around and walked back, the face of pure innocence and love looked cemented to his face.

Jesus Christ: My good friend, I feel invigorated! Nothing brings me more happiness than to see a beautiful new life entering the Universe and to have the honour of baptising it myself, if only I could do it to every new life. It is also nice as a diversion to see new life to the destruction of life. Even though we do the work of God by purifying the Universe from the Heathens I still die a little at everyone of their deaths. They may be Heathen but they have families and loved ones too. They may be good people but they are still damned for not believing in me or God and for believing in me by false faiths that only play to Satan’s benefit. Oh how I long for peace, where everyone can leave in peace praising the one Lord, our God.

Janik Pope: You’re honoured to baptise their child?

The Janik Pope smiled widely and genuinely.

Janik Pope: I think they are the ones who feel honoured by you doing it. I also agree with you on the Heathens, but we must steel ourselves. They do the work of Satan whether they realise it or not and they must be stopped. Would you like to accompany me to the Apostle’s home for a celebration of the newborn with mass?

Jesus Christ: My friend, there is nothing more that I would love to do but I a meeting with the leaders of a planet of potential believers. Please give my Apologies to the family but tell them that I will try my best to get their when I can. Have a good time. You know I can hear God right now singing a beautiful song at the birth of the child. I can predict a long and glorious life for him. Good journey friend.

The Janik Pope and Jesus Christ went their own separate ways, The Janik Pope went back inside the huge Church and Jesus entered a medium sized vessel, with several dozen Janik fighters circling overhead. Jesus’ personnel ship ascended quietly barely making a noise, as they left the atmosphere of the Janik homeworld the ship journeyed to the Fist of God. Now nearing the size of a small moon. Several hundred thousand fighters were patrolling in large swarms. The ship’s engines lit up briefly as they gently pushed it away form the planet, a thick purplish disc opened out in front of the ship that disappeared into infinity and the Fist of God disappeared inside it.

At least two hundred and fifty fleets of T.D.F. ships, nearly twenty thousand ships formed a rough sphere around the Alpha-Omega. From one side of the sphere many T.D.F. ships retreated, four of them were destroyed as they pulled back. From quite a distance away small brilliantly bright golden yellow ball flew through the hole detonating just over the hull, the T.D.F. ships were too far away to be caught in the super nova but the Alpha-Omega was not. It’s dorsal, forward, aft, starboard and port shields glowed furiously. Another set of brilliantly bright golden yellow stars went through the hole, this time two striking the port and aft shields while the third went super nova underneath the giant ship. The Shadow moved quickly in the sphere of T.D.F. ships, a continuous barrage of miniature stars struck furiously at the shields. A sudden huge explosion erupted from a third of the way up the dorsal side of ship. The dorsal shield generator had overloaded and exploded, the resulting explosion took a fair bit of the dorsal side of the ship with it, several dozen hemi-spheres were also destroyed. All of the T.D.F. ships firing from the dorsal side managed to inflict around thirty seconds of damage before an auxiliary shield grid came on line at one hundred percent. A sudden comms burst was heard. All of the T.D.F. ships changed course and used their powerful ion boosters to escape the Alpha-Omega. The Shadow turned and ran at full pelt away, unable to use it’s gravity drive because of the graviton fields being emitted by the Alpha-Omega’s sublight drive. Aft weapons doing very little to that large Cybrid ship’s shields. The closest planet to the Alpha-Omega was an incredibly large planet, nearly thirteen times the size of the Sol star, with one singular large moon roughly half the size of the Sol star. A single T.S.C. vortex opened. The planet and it’s moon never stood a chance. The entrance vortex’s electrostatic bolts disintegrated much of the planet and pushing most of the moon towards the Alpha-Omega. A single pulse beam shattered the moon and planetary remains into Austria sized chunks of rock. The T.D.F. Emperor had arrived.

It’s primary weapons, two huge Hyper-Matter cannons fired a duel long haul shot into the Alpha-Omega. Both beams broke through the Alpha-Omega’s shields and dug two huge trenches along he entire length of the ship before another auxiliary shield grid came online. A left forward hatch opened and all one billion Defence Pods were launched. The pods shot forwards keeping just about all of the Alpha-Omega’s weapons busy. The Alpha-Omega did the same. Out of it’s two hanger bays millions of Cybrid Fighters launched and set on the Emperor. Most of the Defence Pods returned to fight the Cybrid fighters while the others remained to attack the Alpha-Omega. The Cybrid fighters were small and very past allowing for their faster reflexes compared to human pilots. The left forward port opened up on the Emperor where the Heavy blast cannons would be positioned in a smaller T.D.F. ship. The Resonance Cascade Cannon emerged a few metres. A large bluish white orb of energy began to grow rapidly. They centre was blinding to look at and the edges began a deep almost hypnotic shade of blue. A second later and the orb fired forward, it stretched forming an elliptical circle going straight through it’s own Defence Pods and the Cybrid fighters reducing everything caught in the path of fire to free floating atoms. The Emperor was now nearly two hundred and ninety thousand kilometres away from the Alpha-Omega. Another one hundred and forty thousand kilometres and it would be capable of using it’s gigantic Micro-Pulse Tractor weapon. The Alpha-Omega itself had now turned to Face the Emperor and was moving forwards at it’s own speed, just faster than the Emperor itself. The Resonance Cascade bolt struck the Alpha-Omega’s forward, dorsal shield grids. Both grids glowed a brilliant green as they were dispersed into rapidly fading green particles of energy like a huge dust cloud being blown away by a stellar storm. Seeing their chance most of the Dreadnoughts who had been hanging back licking their wounds shot forward using their ion boosters, each one firing two Anti-Planetary Nuclear missiles. All of the Dreadnoughts then did hard turns and ion boosted away as the missiles struck the aft side of the ship. From the back the ship seemed to be completely engulfed by the huge white flashes but when the flashes and the nuclear forces were spent the ship remained, it’s shields relatively intact. The Micro-Pulse Tractor weapon locked onto the Alpha-Omega, large chunks of armour crumpled and were torn off viciously by the beam, the tractor beam moved across the Alpha-Omega’s dorsal armour destroying hundreds of the pulse turrets. The Alpha-Omega’s forward Pulse turrets locked onto the Emperor, several pulses ran along the eighteen forward turrets, the forward shields strained visibly under the intense amount of firepower. The pulse beams remained locked on to the Emperor. The Emperor countered with another Micro-Pulse Tractor beam destroying most of the forward Pulse turrets. Four remaining pulse turrets locked onto the Emperor and fired, all of them were locked onto the portside section which when hit could seen bulging for half a second before huge explosions erupted in all directions from random spots inside the armour of the hull. No doubt the portside Hyper-Matter can was either crippled or more likely destroyed. The Emperor fired a single long haul shot from the front of the Alpha-Omega to it’s aft section smashing deeply into it’s hull, a plume of debris floating away into the nothingness of space. A location was set. The T.S.C. capable T.D.F. ships began opening up vortexes allowing the remainders of the fleets to escape form the system. Six hatches opened along the side wings of the Emperor. One on the top, one on the bottom and one on the sides. Out of each came an Emperor Class Nuclear Missile. They formed a sphere formation around the Alpha-Omega, the Emperor left the system joining the rest of the T.D.F. fleets. The Alpha-Omega attempted to open it’s own T.S.C. vortex but it’s T.S.C. drive was shot to hell by that last Hyper-Matter Cannon beam, it drives, power reactors were also heavily hit, it couldn’t move fast enough to destroy the missiles which were out of range of it’s weapons. After the entire fleet left the system the missiles detonated completely obliterating the Omega-Alpha. But the explosive spheres didn’t just stop there, when the spheres clashed with each other they reacted badly, very badly. They expanding at an astronomical rate engulfing the starsystem and the surrounding thirty Cybrid starsystems in a nuclear firestorm of never before seen destructive power. Three percent of the Cybrid Galaxy’s starsystems remained in tact. The rest reduced to either space dust or nothing. The main system was then assaulted by the remaining fleets. The Emperor and the Shadow leading the assault to the very last Cybrid ship and planet. The Shadow’s starshooter never stopped firing, continuous streams of stars shattered planets and starships alike. Dreadnoughts smashed straight through planets, through the core and through the other side causing them to implode in on themselves. Huge floating Rad Defence Platforms tried in vain to fight off the hundreds of thousands of fighters pumping round after round of different many weapons into their hulls, their only weapon, a single huge Rad cannon unsuitable for taking on small ships after it being designed for taking large capitol to super capitol warships. Most of the planets were being made into Swiss cheese by the Dreadnoughts awesomely powerful weaponry and nuclear missiles. Heavy Cruisers manoeuvred to the aft of Cybrid starships blasting away at their shields until they failed. With the Cybrid’s shields down they moved up closer and let their armour reach out and tear chunks of, slice sections away and or squeeze chunks of the Cybrid ships, guns never stopping. The Larger Emperor sized Cybrid vessels were busy using several tractor weapons to pull Prometheus’s planet out of the system, all of their power being channelled to tractors and engines, the planet itself seemed to be falling apart under strain but falling apart in a pre-designed fashion Sadly their fate had already been determined. The Emperor had already finished manufacturing two of it’s nuclear missiles. One of them fired from the starboard wing rocketing forward past the planet and the Cybrid warships. The ships were destroyed but the planet remained. In fact it was completely unscathed. Instead of a normal green ripple like many high density solid state energy shields it was dark blue. The shade of blue from a very deep patch of water. The planet was still ‘falling apart’. The Emperor couldn’t fire it’s second missile at the planet because there was fighting through out the system with most of the Cybrid ships in tatters or fatally crippled. The remaining T.D.F. ships were in no better state themselves, the Emperor had even taken heavy Rad fire from several dozen Cybrid warships taking out twenty percent of it’s crew. The Shadow tore from underneath the Emperor and shot forward, all drivers at full burn. The forward Quad Heavy Ion Beam Cannon Turrets turned and prepared to fire, the other turrets were busy dealing with thousands of powerful Cybrid Heavy Fighters. Near sixty percent of a wing of Banshees flew through the Cybrid Heavy Fighter swarm taking many fighters but still many remained intact. The starshooter fully charged let loose a terrible cacophony of brilliant yellow stars. As the stars struck the planet, which was rapidly loosing the appearance of a planet, they seemed to become stuck in the blue shield grid, the stars were then propelled back at twice the speed they were fired at. If it had been an ordinary Seth’Talion starshooter then most of them would have likely hit the Shadow or the Emperor but each one went supernova barely a second after being flung away from the changing planet. Each super nova keeping the shields visible for a fraction of a single second. A Resonance Cascade bolt leapt from the Emperor and struck the shields of the now planet sized starship. The Cybrid’s final super ships was covered with guns larger than the Emperor. The Emperor launched another nuclear missile at the new ship, the missile rolled through oncoming streams of fire from millions of small calibre weaponry. An large fleet on the other side of the system was unlucky to be in the path of one of the huge guns from the Prometheus totally destroying the fleet. Two huge cannons came out the front as hatches slid out of the way. You could have fit five Emperors across them. Two huge blinding yellow spheres rapidly grew growing far larger than the gun barrels in a matter of seconds. The Emperor opened a T.S.C. vortex for itself and the Shadow. They moved into safely avoiding the twin beams which simply dissolved the several remaining planets in the starsystem. The Emperor and the Shadow pulled back out of the vortex and were both preparing to launch everything they had at it hoping it stop Prometheus. Another two large spheres began to form.

Chapter 16

The two guns were just about on the verge off firing. A pair of small insignificant black orbs shot forward passing straight through the shields and smashing straight through the front cannons going out the port side of the ship being trailed by a streak of debris. Matt gripped a joystick under a monitor and moved it rapidly to the source of those two black orbs. Nothing, besides a few hulked Cybrid and T.D.F. starship’s remains and several chunks of various planets, some still with lights working, nothing. The two huge energy spheres that were forming at the end of the large gun barrels on Prometheus were still growing. Matt shot a look at Tal’Kum and then at another monitor which had the Emperor’s captain with that same look. Every remaining T.D.F. ship fled through T.S.C. vortexes back into human space. The spheres continued to grow and grow till the Prometheus could no longer contain the energy in any form of a field, the spheres exploded taking Prometheus, the Remainder of the Cybrid Galaxy and a large chunk from a nearby Galaxy only a few million lightyears away. The explosion visible to half of the Universe.

In a quite alien planet a long field covered in long green and purple plants, most being strangled by some kind of weed. One of them was gracelessly crushed by a very graceless creature, it was around four metres in length with a long tail, at the end of it’s tail it broke into two smaller tails with small bone spheres with multiple horns sticking outwards in every direction. The creature was in full stride turning left and right trying to bite at heavily armoured Janik Marines. Both marines had long lances with an energy ring at the end. A white ball grew rapidly in between it’s large jaws, a half moon shaped crescent that covered it’s forehead glowing as the ball grew. After it had reached about four feet in diameter, the jaw from highest to lowest was nearly six foot, it fired the energy ball scoring a direct hit on the Janik Marine. As the ball of white energy struck the Marine it exploded in a mangled explosion of white energy instantly vaporising the Marine, the second one saw his chance and managed to get the energy ring around the creature’s neck. The creature jumped at least four metres into the air as gracelessly as it ran, even with the five hundred and eighty pound armoured Janik it was an effortless task for the creature, it’s apparent clumsiness the only thing that made it look otherwise. It landed leaving two moderately deep claw impressions on the ground, the creature ran around jumping around over countless meters of ground for another twenty minutes, the Marine in tow. The Marine exhausted and beat let go of the lance and just lay their face down panting and gasping for air. Utterly defeated. The creature walked a few steps keeping one eye on the Marine and starting to eat the foliage in the field.

John: Incredible beasts, God must be blessing us handsomely with such a gift.

Janik Marine: A gift? It looks more like a doubled edged sword.

John: Did you see that energy bolt it used? That’s an electrostatic pulse. We don’t even have technologies that could do such a thing. Even our scans tell us nothing that could enable them to do it. It surely has to be a miracle of God. Nothing else could explain it.

Janik Marine: Look! Jesus Christ!

John looked over to his left and sure enough there was Jesus Christ walking towards them. Suddenly a Marine started screaming and firing his weapon at one of the females. The females were barely half the size of the larger males and each one had walked on two legs near the back, just in front of the small tall, it looked very unsteady as it’s body was nearly perfectly parallel to the ground. At the front two arms held a curved bone blade that looked capable of decapitating someone, the other held a pair of crab like claws. The females usually just lay about eating until they come into heat, then they decide who to mate with. One of them lay dead, several dozen craters in it’s body were visible. The Marine must have panicked and unloaded several full clips into it’s head alone. Enough firepower to take out an old Apocalypse. One of the largest males were chasing the Marine and gaining fast. The Marine was looking back in panic, he barely noticed the person in front of him but noticed quickly enough to side step, clumsily, before tripping and falling to the ground. The person who he had just missed was Jesus Christ. The creature was rubbing it’s head off Jesus’ stomach and Jesus was petting it lovingly.

John: He truly is the son of God.

After a while the creature the creature wandered off and Jesus made his way towards John and the Marine.

Jesus Christ: Greetings John. These creatures are fantastic are they not? God tells me that they are a gift for our good work. He promises more is in store for those who follow the proper path of God. I am sorry to say hi and go but I must go and find solitude to give thanks to my Father for these gifts.

John: Jesus, I am sorry for asking this but could you ask God how he made these animals or how they can fire those electrostatic pulses?

Jesus Christ: Sorry but I cannot. It is through the divine power of God that they can do it. No other creature or technology can do it.

John: I understand.

Jesus Christ: Now I must depart and pray to my Father in solitude. I also heard that one of our soldiers was killed, a grievous tragedy, I will pray or his safe passage to heaven where he will enjoy euphoria in the Paradise of Eden. God bless ye my sons.

And with that Jesus walked away, a walking stick the only thing he had besides his clothing.

The Emperor Caanon’s face was looking sternly at Matt and Tal’Kum.

Emperor Caanon: I do not remember giving you permission to lead the fleet I assigned to you to fight the Cybrids.

Matt: You’re lucky I did. That first Glitch super ship would have wiped out the rest of your fleets if I and the Emperor hadn’t shown up. By the way. . .

A sudden beeping started on a radar screen on the Shadow, Matt jerked his head around. The Emperor was being pulled into a vicious swirling storm of energies.

Matt: Scratch that idea, Ship, give me a readout on that phenomenon.

Ship: It appears to T.S.C. rift, a complete one, the Emperor is most likely after entering another alternate Universe. I am detecting several dozen unknown ship profiles, unknown weapons, shields and power signatures. The Emperor has reached the other side with little damage, the phenomenon has dissipated.

Matt: Oh just ****ing great!

Emperor Caanon: What? What happened to the Emperor? What’s going on?

Matt: Ship send the Emperor a coded description of the event and all relevant sensory information. That’s all. . .

Ge’oth: Greetings . . .

Matt jumped gripping his heart.

Matt: Jesus Christ! Give us a warning before you just sneak up on us like that. ****ing Christ.

Ge’oth: We apologise, we are here to explain the disappearance of the T.D.F. Emperor. It has been sent to another Universe by us, do not worry, we have done so without side effects like the black-holes. They are needed to help fight off a race similar to the Satuna but not as powerful. We have no more tips to give to you Matt but to assault the Janik as soon as possible. With every minute they grow in power and soon will be unstoppable by even the T.D.F. We also fear that the Satuna are interfering still. If we can find evidence of this we will act accordingly. Fare well Matt.

Matt waved as he knew they just vanished.

Emperor Caanon: I can not dispatch any forces to help you, we are stretched thin, we have even had to deploy the N.T.D.F. to help reinforce out numbers.

Matt: What about Ring?

Emperor Caanon: They are also deployed.

Matt: Tell them I said thanks for their help with Prometheus back their.

Emperor Caanon: You knew it was them?

Matt: It wasn’t like the Ge’oth would do that.

Emperor Caanon: Quite a bit of fire works eh?

Matt: You saw it all the way back there?

Emperor Caanon: Yes, I’m surprised the entire Universe hasn’t seen it. Oh by the way, he has a new module for your suit.

The Emperor pointed behind Matt on the monitor. Matt turned around to see a Ring Operative standing at the back of the bridge. Well what he assumed was a Ring Operative. It was nearly seven foot tall, heavily armoured in some powerful looking infantry armour. He had seen T.D.F. security forces using the heavy Myrmidon class armour, capable of wielding mortars that could level entire buildings. Slower than the smaller and faster Hoplite armor which was a go between of the lightning fast Peltast and Myrmidon armour. Each one had an energy rocket pack fuelled by a powerful fusion generator. The Ring Operative’s armour made the Myrmidon look like a Hoplite. The armoured Ring Operative took a step forward as the armour seemed to absorb into his skin like cream going through a thick sieve. He held a small grey glass container in his left hand. He walked the rest of the way simply wearing the ordinary Ring infiltration suit. He poured the grey dust onto Matt’s shoulder.

Matt: What is it?

Ring Operative: Neural Nanites. With a single thought they can form anything you need, armour, shielding, weapons, or what you just saw.

Matt: Cool.

Ring Operative: That’s not all, watch.

The Ring Operative formed a thick piece of armour on his left hand and with his right he activated his fusion dagger, he made a slash at his armoured arm and all the fusion dagger did was chip away a small bit.

Matt: How did it do that?

Ring Operative: Borcakite. It can withstand just about everything from lasers to anti-matter to fusion.

The Ring Operative looked at Tal’Kum and seemed to consider not giving her any of the borcakite nanite but it was had his orders. He poured them onto her. As he stepped back he vanished.

Matt: Thanks, I’ll see you at the end of this Weathers.

Emperor Caanon: Me too.

The Emperor’s face blinked out of the screen replaced by dark nothing.

Tal’Kum: Ok, are we ready to attack the Janik yet?

Matt: Not yet, but I’m going to need to go talk to the Ge’oth again, things went by a little two fast, have you completed those A.R. training programs yet?

Tal’Kum: Yeah, all but the last one.

Matt: Ship take us to the closest black hole, take your time.

Ship: Command Acknowledged.

Matt followed Tal’Kum as she walked into the A.R. room and plugged in. Matt followed suit with one of the other helmets. Matt and Tal’Kum were taken to a black room.

Matt: Load final training mission, Duel.

After a little beeping noise a light shone over head, it was a simple long light that showed much of the wall. Covering the wall were hundreds of weapons beyond number, from all sizes calibres and races. Tal’Kum spotted the most powerful weapon there quickly. A Ki matter displacement cannon. A large weapon that required a fair bit of strength and a good shoulder to hold it on. It was a powerful and very advanced weapon. It’s effects were simple, it would fire a sphere which would ‘displace’ what ever it hit. It could displace an arm, a head, a torso, even segments of a wall. Besides a large herc grade heavy shield generator like the Medusa or Titan barely anything could stop a sphere from it.

Matt: You’re not going to use that are you?

Tal’Kum: Why?

Matt: That will just make him mad.

Tal’Kum swallowed hard.

Do what i do, click on the pages and when you go offline you can see them later in the Temporary Internet Files Folder in your Windows Folder. Oh, by the way does any one have the Star Wreck episodes, i had a computer crash a few weeks ago and the site where i got them before is gone.

Chapter 17

Tal’Kum: What do you suggest?

Matt: Your mind.

Tal’Kum put away the gun and looked around. She finally saw what she was looking for. A Xetic sniper rifle. A good weapon, light, quite, very long range. Lots of shots to the energy clip. She checked her fusion dagger was in place.

Tal’Kum: Ready.

Matt: Ok then, just walk through that door there and it will begin. Oh, watch out for stones.

Matt smiled deceptively. Tal’Kum just looked worried. She walked through the door with Matt following her. The setting was a jungle. Lots of areas to take cover and to ambush someone. Tal’Kum walked as quietly as she could careful not to disturb any of the local wildlife. A bird suddenly flew off in some direction and Tal’Kum squatted aimed at where the bird started through the scope. She saw something move, waited a second a saw something glimmer. She took aim and fired. The bolt moved quietly through the undergrowth and the creature she’d aimed at exploded, a silver horn landing only inches away from her leg. That’s when it was all over. She felt a strange brush of wind against her hand. It felt like wind but she only seemed to feel it in an incredibly small area. Suddenly a pain moved up her arm and she looked at her hand. Nothing, no marks at all. She gripped her heart and then the surrounding countryside fell away. Matt was standing right above her with an old T.D.F. Oxygen Bubble sniper rifle.

Tal’Kum: What was that?

Matt: This is what hit you, it’s an Oxygen Bubble sniper rifle. It fires a concentrated bubble of air with a range of two kilometres. Made redundant by the whole body armour now used by the T.D.F. security personnel but it’s still a deadly weapon. The Oxygen bubble is designed to pierce your skin and create an oxygen bubble in your blood stream, hence the name, and when it arrives at your heart, death. Begin again. I have other stuff to do right now so every time you get killed just say reset and you’ll start again, I beat this on my second go. Let’s see how well you do.

The program was simple, a very accurate and skilled enemy sniper was positioned randomly around the map with a minimum distance of five hundred metres. He was programmed with hundreds of sniper traps and enemy lure tactics which would be used randomly.

Matt moved silently along the corridors, his mind racing at thoughts about Natalie’s fate and Ro’jakel’s death. He clenched his hand into a fist with a large chunk of borcakite around it, with nothing but subconscious hate he punched a crater through the wall on his left. The borcakite the only thing preventing him from crushing every bone in his arm. A maintenance robot moved silently behind and began repairing the damage with an industrial sized knitter gun Matt had always been physically, mentally, telepathically and psionicly gifted but he had never really known about the last two. Like working out the more you use your psychic and psionic abilities the more powerful and easy to use they become. In one of those rare insights into himself he realised an untapped resource within himself. At that second a realisation of the power he could wield struck him with a boost of adrenaline on the side. The Ge’oth.

Matt: Ship, get a vector on the closest black hole, I want full power to the gravity drives.

Ship: Order acknowledged. The nearest black hole is fourteen thousand lightyears away, journey will take two hours fifteen minutes and thirty three seconds.

Matt sat silently in a chair glancing at Tal’Kum’s progress, the sniper was after killing her at least fifteen times. She was rapidly losing her temper which was causing her to make mistakes. Tal’Kum was crawling along on her stomach, she had noticed a small outcropping of small hills with a few trees, each densely packed with leaves, between the two hills a small black muzzle poked out of some thick undergrowth. It was barely out more than a few millimetres and she was lucky to have seen it all, lucky that the sniper had also failed to see her. She had set the Xetic sniper rifle to automatic hopefully to surprise the sniper and fire a barrage of energy pulses at him. She crept quietly behind the sniper’s position. She jumped around from the back immediately spraying the area with heavy fire. The sniper rifle was placed upon a small tripod with a small super quiet motor making it seem like it was being moved subtly so as not to attract any attention. Before she could turn around she felt the cold hard barrel of some pistol or rifle against the back of her head. The program reset and she screamed in frustration, a single shot from the sniper hit her before she even finished her scream. Another reset. Matt smiled.

Matt: That’s right, you suffer you little ****ing whore, I’m gona butcher you and your father when I get Natalie back, I’m gona make it slow and painful. Believe me when I say your going to want it quick.

Matt smiled sinisterly.

Matt: You’re mine bitch.

Matt shook his head clearing it of that thought for later. He could see the black hole growing rapidly larger up ahead. Three long glittering objects, So’Neth fighters, grew rapidly as the ship approached.

Ge’oth: Matt it is good to see you.

Matt: You know me?

Ge’oth: We are the Ge’oth, we share each other’s memories and thoughts with the exception of our feelings and emotions which we keep unto ourselves. Tell us, what do you require?

Matt: Ok, a bit ago, I had what I think might have been a revelation, what are the limits for psychic and psionic abilities.

Ge’oth: Those abilities are limited by your evolutionary age.

Another Ge’oth voice, different but some how nearly identical the previous voice that spoke.

Ge’oth: I think he means how much potential he has for his psychic and psionic abilities.

Matt: Yeah, what the second voice said.

Ge’oth: Matt, you posses the abilities to use all of your brain and more, you just lack the training to use it properly.

Matt: Oh great! And who is supposed to train me? I am the only human who can use all of my brain, or maybe Ring could help me out.

Ge’oth: They could, to a certain amount but they only use a third of mental abilities. You can use a twentieth. Maybe we could give him a little nudge in the right direction.

A third Ge’oth voice spoke quietly.

Ge’oth: You know the rules of the game, we cannot help him out like that, only small bits of information to keep him on the right path.

Matt: Well you would be giving me the ‘information’ on how to build up my mental abilities right?

The Ge’oth instead of answering remained silent for two seconds, although this might not be considered long to many races to the Ge’oth that extra second would be far more than enough time to solve every known disease in the Universe. Matt noticed this hoping that they could consider his idea.

Ge’oth: It seems you might have found a ‘loophole’, I believe your people call it. Very well.

Matt could feel the a small surge of information. He had to admit, the Ge’oth could do just about everything.

Matt: Thanks.

Ge’oth: Very well, you have the rest of the game to complete, hurry, time is against you.

The Shadow turned slightly and began to move away on it’s sublight drives.

Matt glanced at the monitor showing Tal’Kum’s progress. She was red with anger and trying her best to keep cool. She kneeled down and started to dig out two small trenches perpendicular to each other. A ‘X’ as far as Matt could see but one of the trenches was a bit off. She pressed a button on her weapon and a jagged looking bayonet like blade darted forward from the forward underside of the end of the barrel like a mandible. She ran the tip of the blade while supporting most of the gun on her shoulder, she could a similar ‘X’ with the same bit looking a bit off, she spilt some of her blood into the two trenches until they were lined with her bright nearly white pale blue blood. She chanted some words, her face returned to it’s usual pale blue blood colour, the anger suddenly gone, she moved nearly seeming possessed. A small pile of naturally forming pebbles as if struck by something fell, Tal’Kum stared at them before pointing and firing a single round into the under brush. A cry rang out and the simulation ceased. Matt turned his head slightly as realising how hard a shot would have been like using on the direction of how the pebbles fell to guess the position of an enemy sniper. Damn near impossible but he flinched it off and buried his true feelings about her to the back of his mind. Tal’Kum was after leaving the A.R. room and walking towards the bridge. She was nearing the door when a sudden shudder ran the whole length of the ship, they were under attack and something just hit the ship with an awful lot of force. Her cool and confident walk turned into a panicking run barely keeping herself from tripping as another shudder ran through the Shadow’s hull. When she arrived on the bridge Matt didn’t even notice her arrival, panels everywhere were lit up giving reports on this and that, several maintenance robots were taking up positions organising fellow maintenance robots as Matt turned the ship in another tight metal tearing turn narrowly avoiding the incoming onslaught of weapons fire.

Tal’Kum: What’s going on?

Matt: Dragon Pirates, looks like a full sect, damn it! Ship their after tearing through the outer hull and are making for the cargo holds, assign defenders in pairs ever fifty metres, engage at close range, damn Clas can’t pierce their scales. Tal’Kum take the helm, I’m going Dragon hunting. Matt thought for a moment and from his suit grew a large heavily armoured exoskeleton, on his left arm a pair of cannons formed, one above and one below his forearm. The armoured feet clanked heavily as he jogged down out the door. Ship had managed to force the Dragon along towards Matt’s position, Ship knew that Matt could handle himself and it would cost less to patch Matt up than to repair, rebuild or buy new defenders.

The leader of the boarding group charged forward through the corridors which were just large enough for her to charge through, twelve other Dragon warriors charged behind her, each one armed with melee and projectile weaponry. They nearly toppled over her as they saw the near eight foot humanoid. Matt raised his left arm, the barrels of the cannons glowed brightly as the yellow fusion beams lanced outwards slicing the leader in three. The rest charged, the cannons withdrew into the left forearm as Matt ran forward into a vicious fist fight. Matt launched a jab aimed for the throat of one of the Dragons, the Dragon’s throat slithered to the side like a snake but the attack wasn’t useless, he scored a glancing blow to the dragon right behind the first throwing it back against the wall twenty metres away from the fight. One of the Dragons used it’s powerful natural plasma fuelled flame throwers heavily scorching Matt’s armour but nothing too serious. Matt’s temper flared out of control. He grabbed the Dragon’s neck and ripped it from the body as two other Dragons lashed him in the back with two consecutive blows from their tales, amazing considering the cramped area of the fight. One of them froze as a gut wrenching sound of something blasting through skin. An explosion. A Defender stood at the end of the corridor with a smoking missile launcher. The two light autocannons began turn at blurring speeds with white hot slugs pumping out in steady white streams as the bullets could barely withstand the heat of such velocities. One of the Dragons turned around rushing the Defender, but the Defender had it’s energy blades up and ready for the fight. A second and third appeared behind it with four more approaching from Matt’s side of the fight. Dragons are natural warriors but in tight confined areas their size and build makes them clumsy and unable to fly or use their powerful legs or tails without spreading their wings for balance. Matt smiled under his heavily armoured helmet. The rest of the Defenders began to converge and kill off the Dragons in overwhelming numbers. Outside the battle wasn’t going so well either, only three Boarding Claws managed to breach the hull and savage their way into the innards of the Shadow. Most were taken out by rapid successions of Mini Ion cannons and the relentless assault of the Plasma Defence Nodes. The Dragons were falling back but now another sect of Dragons appeared. They were mostly covered in armour plating with many Cybernetic implants and upgrades. All of them had breast plates with a symbol, the symbol was the same on Matt’s ship. The symbol was a black circle with three series of circles which got progressively smaller as they curved away from the main circle, each series at sixty degrees from other two. The series of circles reached out to a black ring. The Shadows sect. The largest Shadow Dragon’s neck arched back as a large yellow fusion ball grew in it’s mouth. The Dragon fired the long fusion beam at the Queen of the pirate Dragons, it pierced the Queen’s skin after a few seconds, two other beams from other Dragons entered the same spot vaporising most of her insides in what seemed like a one in a million chance shot. What remained of her insides was sucked out into space, young Dragons, eggs, food, the blood forming small red bubbles. The rest of the pirate Dragons looked on In disbelief, the Shadow Sect were supposed to be a myth, a fable, not real. To them this was impossible. Some just turning their heads left and right in disbelief as more fusion beams ended their lives and continued to pummel the Queen to death, unable to comprehend anything that was happening. The Shadow Sect were the elite of the elite to the Dragons, they were the enforcers to which there is no escape. You cross them and you get crossed off, a crude description of what happens to Dragons who break the law or to aliens that attack Dragon colonies or Sects. They were the Dragon’s own version of Ring.

Chapter 18

Unlike most space faring creatures Dragons are capable of moving through space without the aid of starships although there are many fleets of super sized Dragon ships many live inside their huge Queens which is simply a gigantic Dragon capable of transporting hundreds of smaller Dragons and supplies across space indefinitely. Dragons are generally honourable and do not seek bloodshed but if provoked they can be the most formidable of warriors. Very few races can take on a Dragon fist to claw without the aid of armoured suits or technologies. Dragons are capable of flying through space by riding solar winds and gravitational eddies in space, although that might sound like they can’t go that far their wings can use these like their wings would use air when they are in a planet’s atmosphere. But unlike the friction of a planet’s atmosphere there is virtually no friction to slow them down so only a few beats of their wings is enough to propel them at great speeds. Their small sizes, quick reflexes and abilities to dodge incoming fire by contorting their bodies makes them also quite hard to hit. The Shadow Sect leader, Alexander, was towering over Matt and Tal’Kum at nearly four hundred feet high in the large cargo bay. He was absolutely huge. Even with his wings tucked neatly against it’s back it would be hard to gauge the size of the Dragon when they were fully extended.

Alexander: Why do you have our symbol and name for your ship?

Matt: Uh, wow, uh, I Uh.

Matt shook his head using his best poker face and a small cough he acted as he normally did.

Matt: When I was young I always loved hearing stories about you guys and when I got my ship here I named it after your Sect, you guys where my heroes.

Tal’Kum: You were a child once?

Alexander looked little taken aback and unsure about what to say next, the Shadow Sect had been called a lot of things, but never heroes, a first time for everything he thought.

Alexander: Your Human right?

Matt: Yeah.

Alexander: I have never seen Earth except from images from my grandparents, is it still there?

Matt: Yes.

Alexander: You certainly have progressed, from what my grandparents told me about your race you used old ore melee weapons for combat.

Alexander gestured his surroundings with his arms.

Matt: Some of us still do, but more advanced than those ones.

Matt showed him his fusion dagger and activated it.

Alexander: Impressive. Tell me, what happened to our brethren and sisters on your planet, we have been, out of touch with this region of the Universe for several thousand years.

Matt: Uh, I’m not sure, after the Dark Ages Dragons were reduced to myth. Not much left after that. I think they were all killed. We were a lot, um, well we weren’t as enlightened as we are today.

Alexander: Yes, few other creatures we have met have been as a vicious as you humans, you destroy what you can’t have or take, maybe our fellow Dragons were foolish for trying to keep you humans on the path of honour.

Matt: I wouldn’t say that, after all, I’ve been created to save the Universe.

Alexander: Sorry, what?

Matt: I was created by the Ge’oth to fight the Satuna in a game that takes place every. . .

Alexander: You have been chosen by the Ge’oth for that?

Matt: Yeah, in fact I was just about to find the Satuna’s champion and kill him, How do you know about the game?

Alexander: Because my father was chosen by the Ge’oth once.

Matt nodded in respect.

Matt: My congratulations for his victory. You must be very proud.

Alexander: I am. I did sense something within you when we first met. You have something. I can not tell what but you do have something.

Matt closed his eyes and started to concentrate. He slowly began to lift off the ground. An empty barrel a few metres up along the right wall flew up and smashed itself to pieces between Matt and Tal’Kum. Matt descended slowly to the ground once again.

Alexander: Indeed, you do possess something special, did the Ge’oth give it to you?

Matt: Yes, they did, I have the ability to use my full mental and psionic capabilities, far beyond any other Human alive other than myself, but I still have not mastered it all.

Alexander: And who is this Kuuruot?

Matt: My. . .

Matt said he next word with so much malice that Alexander was taken by surprise.

Matt: . . . trainee.

Tal’Kum was busy speaking to another Dragon so she was oblivious to Matt’s and Alexander’s conversation. Alexander dropped to one knee and lowered his head so Matt could whisper something to him. After Matt had explained it the large Dragon he suppressed a roar of anger.

Alexander: That angers me like nothing could ever anger me, I know what it is like to have a loved one stolen from you, tell you what, since you are undergoing the game for the Universe like my father did, I will search the Galaxies for this Kuuruot and rescue your friend’s and your daughter. If I can I shall bring this Supt’Grah with me, be assured he will be alive for your own vengeance.

Matt looked at the huge Dragon feeling a kinship and suppressed a tear, vengeance might come sooner than he hoped.

Alexander rose to his full height and let out a roar, the cargo bay doors opened and the Dragons left. Matt waved as they went.

Tal’Kum: Why did they leave so soon.

Matt: They have stuff to do and people to see.

Matt had by now completely forgotten about Tal’Kum’s blood letting ritual.

A captured T.D.F. Heavy Cruiser was being brought to one of Janik’s planet orbiting scaffolds for recycling into a necessary spare parts while the crew were transported down to the planet’s surface via Herc Dropships. Onboard near the very back of the Herc bay where a small fraction of her crew Donna McFadden stood, scheming a plan for escape. Like most physically crippled people she joined the T.D.F. security forces, using robotic pieces of armour to replace the damaged limbs physically handicapped people could find easy employment. Her right calf was deformed through a genetic and she found the idea of cloning repulsive she opted for her legs removed and replaced with the cyborg legs, these were later replaced to the heavily armoured Myrmidon legs which were augmented for her own personal use. Although they had taken most of her armour at least they hadn’t taken away her legs. The fools were two naive. Just about every security officer had some secret weapon, a dagger, gun hidden inside their armour she had a Star Dragoon dagger, it was protected from scanning devices by the machinery in her legs. Myrmidon class heavy armour basically allows a human to become a mini herc, the armour itself is nearly seven hundred pounds not including the user, and with only having the one hundred and thirty pounds of Donna to support so they could move faster than when they were supporting Donna and the rest of the body armour. Donna like most Security Chiefs were already planning an escape, heck more than half the people in the Dropship were thinking about the same thing. Only they didn’t have her legs. Oh how she wished she was with the others who had graduated from her class, even that guy who got dropped out, that same guy that got her sister killed, accidentally. She knew he loved her and he went into a real downward spiral after that but she could still never forgive him. The hum of the engines began to weaken slightly before a less than gentle thud rattled the insides of the Herc bay, the pilots themselves and the Hercs wouldn’t have even noticed the thud, the pilots had that cushioned cockpit of theirs and the Hercs cockpits were also cushioned to stop it from jerking around when it was hit with a few heavy weapons. They were at one of the strangest planets she had ever seen, the planet orbited the sun while rotating keeping one side in total darkness and the other in tropically warm sunlight. The dark side of the planet wasn’t really that dark, most of it was covered up with factories which ran non-stop, these factories manufactured various materials and supplies to the starships in orbit while the day side was totally taken up with vegetation to feed the Janik war machine. The perfect planet. The Dropship landed onto a well lit rooftop on the dark side of the planet. The only source of light on the planet were the artificial lights set up around the place, a great place to escape, steal a ship and try to escape, she knew the chances of her succeeding were less than slim but hope had managed to bail mankind out of three near genocidal scrapes, maybe it will bail her and few others out as well. An attempt to escape now would be pointless, there were armed guards everywhere and all of the prisoners were shackled. Somebody up front didn’t think so, he managed to elbow a guard, grab a gun and drop four Janik guards before he was blasted apart by several dozen guards from different areas. Donna thought to her self at least the ******* took a few of them with him. When it was her time to be registered a man in a Catholic priest attire sat at the table. He was wearing black trousers, a black top and waist coat, around his neck an inch of white covered the front of his neck.

Janik Priest: Now then. . .

Looking at the form in his hand.

Janik Priest: Donna McFadden. Welcome to New Jaker. I’m Fr. Gabriel, now we have two choices for you, the first is to work in our factories or greenhouses depending on your skills and abilities, the second is whether you would like to convert to Catholicism. Which would you like?

Donna: What do you mean convert?

Fr. Gabriel: Well, we’d give you free religious schooling, a chance to become a true Catholic and join with us in our cleansing of this Universe.

Donna: Me and God aren’t exactly on the best of speaking terms.

Fr. Gabriel: Oh that’s not true. God loves all his children, no exception, why don’t you tell me about it?

Donna looked left and right there were twenty other priests with a desk, a holy cross, a chair for the captured to sit down on each side of her.

Donna: Ever since I lost my sister to a stupid accident I’ve never been able to say anything to God except **** you, you ******* for what you did.

One of the guards automatically raised his gun to shot but the priest raised his hand stopping the guard.

Fr. Gabriel: But surely you must realise that she’s in a far better place by now.

Donna hated to admit it, especially to herself but this guy was really charming and seemed to know exactly what to say. For a second she nearly bought into what he was saying but her training wouldn’t let her, it slammed her hard explaining the workings of brainwashing and what it would do to her if she accepted.

Fr. Gabriel: I’m sure she’s looking down at you right now hoping and praying that you’ll agree to convert, after all she would only want your to do the right thing right?

Like her sister Donna was a Muslim.

Donna: According to you guys she’d be in hell, after all being a Muslim is just as bad as being a Satanist to you guys isn’t it?

Fr. Gabriel looked at the form again.

Fr. Gabriel: You’ll be sent to the factories to work. Next.

One of the guards grabbed her by the arm and lead her away to a nearby waiting transport shuttle. If the guard had understood English that well he would have treated her more viciously but dumb luck prevailed. There were a lot of people in the shuttle, they had divided the people into colour and sex. She was pushed towards the white corner with the other women. The shuttle was practically full and already starting to move as a few of the guards jumped off to wait for the next shuttle.
